Thanks to City Green Light, Matera takes a decisive step toward urban accessibility with the introduction of an innovative system designed to support the mobility of visually impaired and blind individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-752036941c3f453f5ba0480ea16c0f46\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The solution, developed by the startup <strong>LETIsmart<\/strong> and integrated into the <strong>public lighting upgrade plan,<\/strong> involves the use of &#8216;smart&#8217; white canes that communicate with a network of radio beacons installed throughout the city. These devices transmit real-time directional audio information, enabling users to navigate safely through complex urban environments, where noise and architectural barriers pose daily challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-458adc24fbc0f6e6b425059455c1e7f1\" style=\"font-size:15px\">City Green Light\u2019s approach goes beyond energy efficiency, which has led to a 74% reduction in consumption and over 1,300 tons of CO\u2082 saved each year, and embraces a broader vision: <strong>transforming the lighting network into an intelligent and inclusive infrastructure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f551d88501b2f05023d374770aa21570\" style=\"font-size:15px\">The LETIsmartVOCE system has been designed to integrate with traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, warning signs, public spaces, and transportation, ensuring service continuity and full accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:27px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-dark-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9768f07ddfdcb6ed653b722d63ad9898\" style=\"font-size:15px\">This initiative is part of a broader project that included <strong>the upgrade of over 10,500 lighting points with next-generation LED lamps<\/strong>, the renovation of hundreds of supports, the installation of remote monitoring and maintenance systems, and the introduction of smart pedestrian crossings.
