A dedicated team within the Business Development area oversees the development of innovation projects, services, and processes.

The approach used to facilitate the creation of value in a participatory manner is open innovation.

This is an innovation management framework aimed at promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing, characterized by the enhancement of internal resources within the organization and cooperation with external stakeholders such as the communities where the company operates, customers, suppliers, and even competitors, to accelerate and strengthen the innovation process.

City Green Light adopts various open innovation strategies, such as co-developing technologies with innovative startups, collaborating with universities and research centers, organizing hackathons or innovation competitions, and participating in innovation networks.

A structured approach to transforming territories

Innovation is a strategic element for City Green Light, supporting the company’s growth and guiding the modernization of the territories it serves. A dedicated team within the Business Development area coordinates projects that integrate advanced technologies, collaboration with qualified partners, and well-defined methodological processes, with the goal of contributing to the development of more efficient, sustainable cities that are ready for the digital transition.

The Innovation Function also participates in national and European consortia and partnerships dedicated to research and development projects (Quality System documents and documentation on INCA solutions), expanding access to scientific and technological networks and integrating into the territories solutions that have been validated in excellence contexts.

Governance and support tools

The management of initiatives follows a structured workflow that ensures strategic coherence, technical-economic quality, and operational continuity. Proposals are evaluated, included in an annual plan, and monitored through digital tools that promote transparency, sharing, and coordination among company functions.

Impact on territories and enhancement of skills

City Green Light’s goal is to make the territories it manages more technologically advanced, sustainable, and ready for energy and digital transitions. The adoption of data-driven solutions and intelligent systems enables public administrations to efficiently manage services and improve urban quality.

Innovation is also closely linked to the growth of internal expertise: the company promotes continuous training, multidisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with qualified partners, creating favorable conditions for professional and organizational development.
