WHAT ARE RENEWABLE ENERGY COMMUNITIES?

Renewable energy communities (CER) refer to groups of individuals or entities that decide to form a legal entity with the aim of becoming prosumers, meaning they collectively produce and share energy.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DO RENEWABLE ENERGY OFFER?

Renewable energy communities offer several advantages for a sustainable and long-lasting energy transition. On the environmental front, the energy produced by shared facilities is generated from renewable sources, thereby ensuring lower CO2 and other gas emissions. Economically, they benefit from various active tax incentives and reduced costs of variable components of the bill, thanks to the generated self-consumption.

SERVICES

  • Design and implementation of photovoltaic systems
  • Establishment and technical-administrative management of the energy community
  • Monitoring of energy sharing flows
  • Promotion of integrated home automation interventions, energy efficiency interventions, electric vehicle charging services to community members
  • Definition and promotion of ancillary and flexible services

A PALTFORM TO MANAGE RENEWABLE ENERGY COMMUNITIES

OpenCER is the open-data platform for managing Renewable Energy Communities (CER) that enables comprehensive monitoring of energy flows and consumption analysis through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, integration of multiple information sources and involvement of community members.

HOW TO BEGIN

We help you find other local members interested in forming a community and developing it based on your consumption habits.

City Green Light has developed a dedicated service to identify and contact individuals, PMI and local entities interested in joining an energy community. Through the simple completion of a form by interested parties, based on the information provided, City Green Light is able to communicate to the user the possibility of joining a REC. The first step is to identify the cabinet associated with the POD (point of electricity consumption) of the property the user is considering. To identify the POD, geolocation data is requested to determine potential community partners and the configuration their community could have.

Once you have obtained this information:

  1. City Green Light will contact the user’s energy distributor (DSO) with its certified email (PEC) to obtain the number of the low/medium voltage cabinet associated with them
  2. City Green Light will communicate the cabinet number to the user
  3. City Green Light, upon approval of the estimate, will configure the energy community together with the user once other interested parties are identified to join it

The following form must be filled out by the owner of the POD (or PODS) or the legal representative of the company, in the case of a business entity. To fill out the form, you will need to have an electricity bill and your personal identification document available.
