Our story
The Birth of City Green Light
City Green Light’s history began in December 2017, when the company became an independent entity following the transfer of the business unit dedicated to public lighting and the Lombardy Tunnels Operating Unit from a long-established Vicenza-based facility management company.
Entry of early investors
In 2018, the investment by FIEE SGR and the pan-European Marguerite II fund supported the company’s growth and consolidation in the public lighting market.
National expansion
From 2019 onwards, City Green Light significantly expanded its customer portfolio through the award of four lots under the Consip Servizio Luce 4 framework agreement and major Third-Party Financing contracts with Italian municipalities, progressively extending its activities nationwide and launching energy-efficiency refurbishment and infrastructure management projects in cities including Lecce, Pisa, Parma, Avellino, Viterbo, Varese and Domodossola.
Client portfolio growth
In 2023, the Group continued its growth path with the integration of FBF, a company based in the Venice area specialising in technical systems and energy efficiency, together with Lumagest, a company specialising in the management and improvement of public lighting in municipalities across Central Italy, particularly in Abruzzo and Lazio, with a focus on delivering efficient, safe and sustainable services while leveraging local expertise.
Smart cities and renewables
In 2024, City Green Light further strengthened its positioning through the acquisition of strategic companies including Termotecnica Sebina, Smart Parking Systems, City Metrics, Energy Green and Efferre Energia, expanding the Group’s capabilities in technical systems, technological construction, smart parking, remote monitoring, energy management and renewable energy. As part of this development, the Construction Solutions Business Unit was established, dedicated to construction, technological systems and energy efficiency, while the Group continued to develop integrated solutions for smart cities, remote monitoring and energy management.
Construction Solutions is launched.
In 2025, the acquisition of 100% of the company by Igneo Infrastructure Partners marked the beginning of a new phase of international and infrastructure growth. At the same time, City Green Light continued to invest in innovation and sustainability through smart solutions for energy monitoring and remote system management, Video Analytics and AI technologies, consolidating its role as an integrated partner for the energy, digital and urban transition.
