Naples, May 30, 2025 – Starting Saturday, May 31, 2025, the first 22 electric buses purchased by the Municipality of Naples will officially enter into service. Equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, video surveillance systems, and passenger information displays, these buses mark the concrete beginning of the city’s sustainable fleet renewal. A total of 253 new electric vehicles will be introduced to serve the city. City Green Light plays a key role in this major step forward for Naples by contributing to the project through the development of electric bus charging infrastructure, made possible thanks to PNRR funding. The initiative includes the installation of 253 charging stations distributed across ANM depots in Via Puglie, Cavalleggeri Aosta, and Carlo III.
The project, with a total value of over €19 million, will be carried out by City Green Light with a 98.81% share in the temporary consortium (ATI), in collaboration with ANM – Azienda Napoletana Mobilità. This strategic initiative will enable the efficient charging of vehicles, improving service operations and making a significant contribution to the reduction of both air and noise pollution.
On May 30, the first two electric buses were officially presented in the square in front of Palazzo San Giacomo, in the presence of Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, Mobility Councillor Edoardo Cosenza, and ANM General Director Francesco Favo.
With this project, City Green Light reaffirms its commitment to supporting public administrations by promoting innovation and sustainability through cutting-edge technological solutions for the urban mobility of the future.
